Countdown to Asia’s Premier Business Aviation Event
ABACE2012 Comes to Shanghai This Month
The potential for business aviation in Asia is enormous, given the region’s population, economic activity, and need for transportation to cover the distances between business locations. These factors explain the importance of the Asian Business Aviation Conference & Exhibition (ABACE2012).
The Show, being presented in partnership with the Shanghai Airport Authority and co-hosted by the National Business Aviation Association, the Asian Business Aviation Association and the Shanghai Exhibition Company, will be held on the Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport in the new Shanghai Hawker Pacific Business Aviation Service Centre from March 27 to 29, 2012.
This bulletin is among a series of special reports produced to provide news, highlights and other information as momentum continues building for ABACE2012, which will be the premier industry event in the region.

When the ribbon-cutting opens ABACE2012, Attendees will have access to a completely full show floor with more than 150 Exhibitors, spread throughout the large maintenance hangar at the new Shanghai Hawker Pacific Business Aviation Service Centre, and across an exhibitor pavilion that has been added immediately adjacent to the hangar in order to meet demand. Just outside the exhibitor area, 31 aircraft will be on display on the Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport. View the ABACE2012 exhibit floorplan, and the plan for the Static Display of Aircraft.
The organizers for ABACE2012 have projected attendance at the event to reach around 6,000 business leaders, entrepreneurs and other aircraft-purchase decision-makers, many of whom are expected to register on site at the show. Certain times during each day of the show are expected to be particularly busy for registration, and Attendees can avoid waiting lines by registering ahead of the show online. The ABACE web site makes online registration quick and easy, so Attendees are encouraged to visit the site and register ahead. Visit ABACE online registration today.
As the premier business aviation event in Asia, ABACE will serve as a platform for show Exhibitors to make major news announcements about their products and activities in the region and around the world. The press conference schedule for the specially designated “Media Day” during ABACE2012 includes back-to-back news events, being held by some of the most recognized names in the industry. In addition to the visibility the show will receive from its media partners and supporters, the event’s organizers have retained a global communications consultancy to develop a media-relations plan that includes print, broadcast, online and wire news services, and exhibitors are expected to engage in their own media outreach efforts as well. View the press conference schedule for ABACE2012 on the event’s web site.
As previously reported, a roster of nearly 40 media partners and supporters has been helping promote ABACE2012, with advertising, editorial content and online initiatives. The publications enjoy long-established visibility and relationships among leaders in aviation, business and government in Asia and around the world. In recent weeks, a number of the publications have sent a Flash email invitation developed just for ABACE2012 to their extensive subscriber databases. A print version of the invitation has been made available to the publications, and many print invitations have gone out as well. ABACE Exhibitors and Attendees can access the flash invitation on the event’s web site.
Hurun Report, a publication with a proven readership of 540,000 business leaders in China, is the Official Media Partner for ABACE2012, and its publisher has made plans to hold a March 27 press conference during the event to release the Chinese Luxury Consumer White Paper 2012. The report, which the publisher produces in partnership with the Industrial Bank, details demographic information about China’s top business leaders and their evolving lifestyle. Hurun Report’s press conference will take place on site at ABACE2012, from 2:00 – 4:00 PM local time. Learn more about Hurun Report.
As previously reported, ABACE will feature a special March 27 evening Gala featuring Steve Forbes, Chairman and Editor-in-Chief of Forbes Media, who will serve as keynote speaker for the event. In the time since the ABACE organizers made registration for the event available online, show participants have been looking to the Gala as an outstanding opportunity for entertaining clients, customers and other VIPs. Learn more about the Gala and purchase tickets online.
ABACE will be the only show with a comprehensive roster of informative sessions on financing, purchasing, operating and maintaining an aircraft. For example, a March 28 session from 1530-1630 will focus on how navigating successful business growth takes the right equipment, knowledge and direction to stay on course. This session will describe the different types of aircraft and the missions they serve (corporate, air ambulance, cargo, etc.) and the trained professionals companies will need to succeed. Attendees will learn key concepts and terminology that make an aviation business profitable and what services are required to run a safe and profitable business operation. Jodie Brown and Yingje Zhang from Summit Solutions will present this program. And, a March 29 session on how technology advancements have improved aviation safety will feature Chris Buchholz, CEO of Hong Kong Jet; Pete Bunce, President & CEO of the General Aviation Manufacturers Association; and Matt Zuccaro, President of Helicopter Association International. All sessions will be simultaneously translated in English and Mandarin. View the entire ABACE2012 education session roster.
